"Our First Anniversary"

by Webmaster

In April, 2004, I wrote:

When I started this web site, I had a dream that this site would become the center point of information about acoustic music; that information about performances and venues and supporting businesses would go out from this site; that information about potential gigs and venues and promotional opportunities would come in through this web site.

This past year has exceeded my expectations. Job offers have come in and gone to the various members. Venues have expanded their customer base and performers have found new places to play music. Fans have followed their favorite performers and found more performers they like. Businesses are reaching new customers. The word is going out.

Our membership increased 45% and we're getting over 3500 hits per month. This surpassed my expectations, but then, the site has been a pleasant surprise all year.

Thank you so much, all of you who helped make this site what it is. And, it is continuing to grow, thanks to you.

Funny, I used to think of this as "my site." Now, I think of it as "our site." We can make this site be better and it's your site, too. Whether you're a member or a reader, you can help improve the site by sending me suggestions.

  • What do you want to see that isn't here now?
  • What do you want changed?
  • What do you want to get rid of?

Thanks so much for all your help and support. Some of you have put AcousticByLines.com on the bottom of your e-mail to your fans. Some of you have talked about AcousticByLines.com from stage at your gigs. Some of you have put your web page on this site on your business cards. All that helps all of us.

I can't do it without you: the members and the fans. It is, truly, our site.

Thanks for visiting AcousticByLines.
