"Faith" |

It's 3:30 a.m. and I'm writing this so I can finish this web site and get it up and running by 1/1/04, the date I promised. Over 25 people had enough faith in me to pay me to be on this web site before I even knew what I would call it. These folks are in the Founders' Circle, and their faith in me means more to me than I can express. I get tears in my eyes, and it's not from the late hour or the infomercial on TV. I guess I used the term "finish" loosely. This web site is not finished. Maybe no good web site is ever "finished". Events will be deleted and added. New members will join and eventually some will quit. Bands will change personnel. Items will be posted and dropped from the Bulletin [BULLETINS], Spotlight [ACCOMPLISHMENTS] and Classified [ADS] pages. Suggestions will be made and some will be implemented. Someday I hope to add sound. Some changes will be made in the background—you won't see them, but it will make the site easier to maintain. I learned a lot, building this web site. And I hope to get gigs for my own bands, make web pages for folks, and maybe even sell some CDs from the activity on this site. So, my efforts are not totally altruistic. But, this site would not exist today if it weren't for the faith of the Founders' Circle. They believe that I can make this site as successful as the web site for the CBMS. I hope I can. I feel like the little engine that could. I think I can. I think I can! And I will, with your help:
Thanks for visiting AcousticByLines. Thanks for your patience with us as we grow. And, special thanks to B. J. Suter, president of the Colorado Bluegrass Music Society, for suggesting the name "AcousticByLines." |
