Colorado Cowboy Classic

Several years ago, Susan Sutherland decided to do her part to preserve cowboy music, so she started the Colorado Cowboy Classic at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 480 S. Allison Way. It has become an annual event. Sunday's show starts at 2 pm. For tickets, call 303-987-7845.

High Mountain Hay Fever

Westcliffe is a beautiful town and a great place for a music festival. In 2003, it hosted the first High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival at the Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds. That festival was a success and a lot of folks are looking forward to returning to Westcliffe for some great music.

The next festival is July 13-14, 2007.

The 2007 festival will be held July 12-15. The lineup will include Sons and Brothers Sons and Brothers: Bands, Singers, Songwriters / Composers, Solo Performers, Sidemen, Instrumentalists, Performers, Entertainers, Musicians,  Bobby Osborne & the Rocky Top X-press, the Gibson Brothers, Lou Reid & Carolina, Bluegrass Patriots, Kantankerous, Sweet Sunny South, The Ackermans, Coal Creek Bluegrass Band, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Mike Compton & David Grier, Ginny Hawker & Tracy Schwarz (line up subject to change).

The July, 2006, festival included: Sons and Brothers Sons and Brothers: Bands, Singers, Songwriters, Solo Performers, Sidemen, Instrumentalists, Performers, Entertainers, Musicians, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Hazel Dickens, Seldom Scene, The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show, Leroy Troy, Didley Connell & Sally Love, The Hart Brothers, Cedar Hill, Palmer Divide, Duke City Swampcoolers, and Raising Cane.

 

The 2005 High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival was held July 7-10.

They put together another stellar lineup, including Dry Branch Fire Squad, Reeltime Travelers, Norman and Nancy Blake, Mike Seeger, The Country Gentlemen, BlueRidge, The Wells Family, and 2003 National Bluegrass Playoff winners, and Sons & Brothers Sons and Brothers: Bands, Singers, Songwriters, Solo Performers, Sidemen, Instrumentalists, Performers, Entertainers, Musicians.

 

The 2004 line up included the Dry Branch Fire Squad, Front Range, Seldom Scene, Sons & Brothers Sons and Brothers: Bands, Singers, Songwriters, Solo Performers, Sidemen, Instrumentalists, Performers, Entertainers, Musicians, Jody Stecher & Kate Brislin, and Perfect Strangers.

Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys

Ralph Stanley and his band will appear in Westcliffe, CO, at the Jones Theater on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 for two performances – a matinee show at 4 pm and an evening show at 7:30 pm.
